Tradition says Joshua ruled 25 years after the death of Moses and died being a 110 years old. At this point the rule of the elders begins and lasts 40 years until the first oppression.
Scenario 1 : If this is true then Joshua was 6 years older than Caleb and he would have been 91 years old in 1400 B.C. Scenario 2 : Some speculate that Joshua and Caleb were the same age. If so, then the 25 years traditionally given to Joshua would have begun in 1400 B.C. placing his death in 1375 B.C. allowing 34 years for the rule of the elders that followed him. (Scenario 1 has more support among historians.)
